Thru Brogan's Eyes

All types of vegetable and flower seeds - This will help teach the children and adults how to grow their own food. 

Vitamins – As the children’s diet is fairly limited due to little variety of foods, vitamins are a great way to supplement the children’s diets. 

Kool-Aid – packets of regular Kool-Aid. No sugar though, since sugar is easily and readily available in Ethiopia. 

Children’s Books – Please bring any children’s books to help encourage children to read and learn English. All reading levels are welcomed! 

Videos – Videos are a real treat for the children, and also encourage the learning of English. VHS cassette tapes and DVDs.

Clothes, Clothes and more Clothes – All sized for boys and girls, especially needed in Ethiopia are: children’s socks and children’s underwear! 

If you are able to donate any of these items, please let me know and I will find a way to get them over here in Ethiopia.

For those of you don't know me, my name is Brogan McKinney. I am a 17 year old young woman from central Illinois who has felt that God has called me to mission work. After much prayer, individually and with my family, I have chosen Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I will be staying in an orphanage run by Blessing the Children International,  a non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of children. Our primary focus is the ministry to orphans and widows in Ethiopia, Africa, called the Adana Children Center – although we partner with more than 30 other ministries and outreaches to varying degrees.
